The Funeral of the Hokage

Tenshi looked over the shrine of her close friend as she attended the funeral. Tenshi looked to see the other members of the village, all of them standing before the coffin. Tenshi silently grieved for her friend, she didn't wish to let out these emotions. When the ceremony was over, the council appeared in front of the village.

"This time is a sad time, the time of the death of our Hokage, Shiro Senju" An elder said "But we must remain strong, for our great leader did the best of his ability, he protected this village from all who attempted to harm us, even when he realized he was dying. We must continue where he left off and do our best to protect this village."

Tenshi nodded her head in approval

"He left behind his dying wish for us to die and grow as ninja, he had one teaching though, the Will of Fire" the elder considered to recite "And we of Konoha will uphold that will"

"Now, we have news, an important announcement for all to hear"

The crowd began to murmur.

"What could it be?" One said

"Something is happening" Another said

"At his dying hour, the Hokage had selected a successor"

The murmurs began to increase.

"The Hokage had chosen his close friend and ally of this village, Tenshi, to take his place"

The murmurs stopped, every Chunin and higher knew of Tenshi, a ninja who was stronger than their Hokage, but remained a close ally, they knew her as a calm, collected, and powerful individual. Tenshi walked in front of the crowd.

"In my friend's dying breath he asked me to take his place, though I am not sure of my ability, I will do my best to protect my friends most precious thing, the people of this village" Tenshi said calmly "I will do all in my power to stop any who threaten our village, a promise I made to my friend and a promise I make to you all as well"

The crowd remained silent for a few moments, then few began to clap. Soon they moved into thunderous applause.

"As Hokage, I will preserve the Will of Fire and make this village grow along with its people"

The crowd cheered in agreement, but within the crowd, she suspected someone would disagree.

Lyca was siiting in a tree only 20 meters away from the ceremony, she had once encountered the Late hokage during her traveling. She had had a qaurrel with him and they had fought, of curse she lost but he had promised to play with her again. "That bastard, he promised" She pouted as a mask of a foxes face hanged to the side of her head. She had brought it with her to give to the hokage as a present. She had grown abit more confident in her powers and wanted to test them. Yet when she had entered the town only talk about the new hokage and the tragic death of the former could be heard.

Lyca still pouting saw how a Woman spoke to the people of Konoha and it seemed she was the new one. "I wonder if she's strong" A grin appeared on her face, but in respect of the former she waited.

Musashi had never been one for funerals. Shinobi shouldn't cry, he always said to himself, which he found it hard to live by that when people died. All the same, he couldn't keep himself from the Hokage's funeral. Musashi was nearby, standing under a tree, dressed in his dark, funeral clothes. All through the funeral he had been biting back tears, the Hokage had been such a beloved person, and now, dead. It was hard to accept it when someone so gallant died like that, suddenly, out of the blue.

His sullen thoughts were washed away by the talk of a new successor, he had no idea who would be the next Hokage. The name "Tenshi" it seemed to echo, perhaps only within his mind. "Tenshi-sensei, will be the Hokage?" he muttered. He would be sure to congratulate her later. Too bad we never got much training in, no tellin' what she coulda' taught me... Musashi thought sadly. Still, good for her. Musashi didn't join the others in applause, instead he faded back into the brush. How 'bout I congratulate her, now? he decided.

He snuck to his best ability, remaining in the brush for as long as possible. When he was almost directly behind Tenshi, ten meters or so, he stepped out and neared her from behind. Hopefully nobody mistook it for an assassination attempt...

When he was about a meter behind Tenshi, he said, "Congratulations, Tenshi-sensei, or, I guess it's Hokage-sama now."

"Please call me Tenshi, I don't want you to be so formal" Tenshi said with a faint smile "Well, thank you for the praise though"

Tenshi turned to look over the village as the people began to return to their duties. She looked to see that there were still some of the hunter nin who had come to hunt her. She didn't think they would attack her in the middle of the village, but unfortunately she might be wrong.

The people where leaving and this left the new Hokage and another all alone. Lyca could no longer supress the feeling of wanting to see if the new Kage was even remotly good, With quike twirl she hooked her Ly2 on her wrist. From the metal cilinder a shuriken formed out of blood, She whispered "Kage bunshin no jutsu" A second her appeared. She let the bunshin throw her and she threw the shuriken just behind using a second bunsin she flipped over the head of the two, as the shuriken headed for the Kages head. "Pleasure ta meetcha"She yelled as she landed with the fox mask covering her face.

Just as Musashi was about to continue speaking, there was a disturbance. Less than a moment later, shuriken, and an attacker. Against the new Hokage. Musashi sprang to life, he jumped in the way of the shuriken, drew Chikara, his katana, deflecting the shuriken. He jumped back, beside Tenshi. "Alright, Tenshi, we've got an attacker it seems!!" Musashi pointed out obviously. "You're the Hokage, so for the most part, I'll try to back you up." he said. If I'm to fight alongside the Hokage, I might need more power.... No, I can't rely on that unless it's left as my only option! Musashi thought, debating his last resort. A voice, impossible to shut out, whispered to Musashi from nowhere, "You cannot deny my power forever..." Musashi shook his head, and refocused on the attacker. Only, as a last resort... he assured himself, doing his best to ignore the menacing voice that beckoned him to unleash the forbidden power. The taste itself would be truly invigorating, almost worthwhile, but Musashi's self-control was not expendable.

"Don't this one came for me, I don't want you getting hurt" Tenshi said holding her arm in front of Musashi "Don't try and unleash his power, until your mind is truly ready, I'll take care of this"

Tenshi looked towards the attacker, if the person was trying to attack without addressing her, she was sure she wouldn't listen to reason. Tenshi looked to see that there were three of them. She knew that two were kage bunshin, she had been watching the attacker before she attacked.

Tenshi appeared in between the three, her eyes showed the dreaded Sharingan. Her sword was in her hands ready to attack.

"Chidori Nagashi"

Tenshi unleashed a torrent of electricity in all directions attacking all three at once.

Lyca's closest bunshin rushed in as the electrical charge moved out, From the effect the bunshin dissolved. Shouldn't touch that She grinned as the mental pressure builded. "Moguragakure no Jutsu" Lyca sank into the ground, and the ground above her closed dodging the charge, the second shadow clone did the same. "Lets play some more" Her voice could be heard above ground, She let her clone appear first behind the kage's back. Using a chop instead of a blade, she was trying to find out if the new kage was worthy to take the formers place. Only a seocond after the clone popped up Lyca herself popped out and made a low leg sweep.

Musashi watched carefully as Tenshi combatted the attacker. Clenching Chikara in his hands, he tightened his grip even further, focusing intently on the battle. Right now Tenshi is winning, but if things get bad, I'll back her up... He thought

Tenshi watched the area constantly with her Sharingan. She looked to see several cracks in the ground and responded accordingly, she unleashed another torrent of electricity, while forming two balls of chakra in her hands, she limited the amount of chakra put into the ball, so to disable not kill.

"Chidori Nagashi" Tenshi recited, then thrusted with the two balls of chakra at both enemies "Rasengan"

The clone at the back dissolved, Lyca couldn't move as the chidori override the movement. Just before the chidori hit she estimated the swirling spheres inpact point, she moved her head into the point of impact. The rasengan smashed the fox mask, using the force of the smash her body flipped backwards. The chidori was now dispersed enough she broke the effect, Lyca landed and was grinning. "Your fun to play with too". She was thinking of playing some more but because she did not control her bloodline completly yet her body produced too much blood. She grinned as a blood spewed from her mouth. "Woopsie"

Ririshi had been on a mission when the Hokage died. When he received word, they had just finished up. He prayed for the late Hokage, packed up his belongings, and dashed towards the village. Part of him knew he'd be too late for the funeral, but he kept pressing onward, trying to avoid that fact or maybe he thought he would make it false.

He arrived after such a small amount of time, and headed towards the funeral site. When he got there, there was almost nobody around anymore. Just three visible figures: the Jinchuriki, someone he recognized from description only, and another he'd never before seen. Tenshi unleashed a Rasengan and a Chidori Nagashi. The other ninja pulled an evasion that still looked painful Masochist, Ririshi thought.

Ririshi landed near Tenshi. "I've heard of you before, ma'am," he said, "Tenshi, I believe." He glared at the other ninja, who appeared to be the attacker. "Now, I don't recognize you as a ninja of this village, explain your intentions now, or should I kill you where you stand?" he demanded. He clapped his hands together, and two more of him emerged, created from wood, but their color then changed to match his own. Moku Bunshin no Jutsu, he thought. His two clones took a stance as well, ready to fight until the opponent was dead on the ground, if necessary.

"I assume you haven't heard the news" Tenshi said with a relaxed face "Your Hokage is dead, Shiro died a couple of hours ago, you just missed the funeral"

ANBU Black Ops began to appear and stood between Tenshi and Ririshi.

"Stop this Ririshi, you are threatening the Hokage" The captain said, then looked at the attacker "Men, take the girl away, put her in confinement until she can be questioned"

"Sir!" The others saluted as they moved to capture the attacker, who was spewing blood.

"Who you threaten to attack right now is Tenshi, Shiro-sama's close friend and his successor as Hokage"

Lyca looked at all the people arriving "Why is everyone so upset? I just wanted to play" She looked sincerely confused. "I came to this place to pay my respect to Shiro~chan, he said he'd play with me next time and now he's dead. Isn;t a custom of Konoha kage's to carrie on the promises of the former kage?"

She saw how the ANBU wanted to capture her, she took a few steps back. "I wanted to see how fun the new one was" She grinned. She looked at the Three people that looked excatly alike, "So nothing to get so hot-headed for" The mask had crumbled leaving only the eyes of the mask intact. "It was fun playing but it seems the rest doesn;t like it very much" She flipped the Ly2's from her wrists back into her pocket.

"It's ok men, please go" Tenshi said as she walked towards the girl "I'm sorry you couldn't see Shiro, but you shouldn't be attacking people you don't know, attacking a Kage could put you on the bingo book"

Tenshi waved the men away, they bowed and backed away she touched the girl on the face.

"My name's Tenshi, what's yours?" Tenshi asked with a smile "If you want we can play anytime"

Lyca looked at Tenshi "My name is Lyca Noi from the great Ketsueki clan"She grinned but as she said that another gush of blood came from her mouth splattering over Tenshi "Woops, sorry i haven;t gotten the hang of this yet" She remvoed the remains of her mask and looked at it "Now i need to get a new one........again"

After pouting slightly she turned her attention back to Tenshi "I don know what a Bingo book is but ill take you up on your offer to play"She smiled and looked behind Tenshi "Do you know those fun people?" she pointed at The wood guy and the guy with the sword.

Tenshi heard explosions and looked to see a large amount of sand in the surrounding forest. Tenshi recognized the jutsu being used. Tenshi turned to Lyca.

"Lyca, I have to go now, be a good girl" Tenshi said, she then looked at the ANBU "I'll leave this to you"

Tenshi bit her thumb and made a series of hand signs and placed her hand on the ground. A puff of smoke appeared and a snake with wings emerged. Tenshi jumped on top of her summon and flew towards the battle.

Tenshi, the new Hokage, had departed, and left this up to Ririshi. Ririshi examined the attacker, the way she spoke, she honestly seemed harmless. Like she was really just playing or something of the like. He sighed, looking over at Musashi. The boy was only a genin, but he possessed the Kyubi's spirit. Good thing nothing got out of hand, the last thing we need is the Kyubi getting out, he thought.

As he turned towards Lyca, the attacker, he spoke. "You were lucky we discovered that you weren't actually attempting to kill Ten—sorry, Hokage-sama. It may not happen again, you need to be more careful when engaging in this sort of action." he said. It was true, she was a rogue, no allegiance to any village, and yet, she didn't seem like she could cause trouble for the village. There was no point in killing someone who wouldn't even harm anything. "You should probably get going, many of my fellow shinobi well not allow you to leave, they will kill you on sight. Be more careful," he finished. Then he turned his attention to Musashi. "Kid, you shouldn't involve yourself in things like this, a rouge attacking the Hokage is not someone you could take on by yourself. You'd probably end up relying on something you'd regret." the way he said it, it would be obvious that it was a reference to the Kyubi.

Musashi left, he was tired of people acting like they new more about him than himself. Especially when he had no clue who they were.

"I can take care of myself" She grinned with a slightly evil glimmer in her eyes. She was thinking about what to do next, she decided to go and look around at this place. The home town of her now deceased playmate "See ya next time" She grinned before making a few hand seals and sinking into the ground.

Ririshi sighed. "So much in one day, but, tis the life of a Konoha ANBU I s'pose..." he murmured. "Well, perhaps I'll go home now, I could use a good rest..." he decided, dispersing into a cloud of smoke.
